Woda jest istotnym tematem w mojej twórczości. To chyba główny motyw większości moich obrazów.
Na plenerach malarskich nad oceanem mam szansę zająć się jej kontemplacją. Takie sesje są prawdziwym docieraniem do głębi powiązania człowieka z naturą w jej najpierwotniejszym kształcie. Bez wody nie ma przecież życia. To w oceanie zaczęło się biologiczne życie. Z wody składa się w większości nasze ciało, nasze DNA, nasz mózg. Jesteśmy z wodą związani prehistoryczną pępowiną.
Mam potrzebę malowania wody, mam też potrzebę zapraszania wody do współtworzenia mojej sztuki. Na wielu obrazach, zwłaszcza tych mniejszych, malowanych w plenerze woda oceanu skrapia czasem bryzą płótno, tworząc zacieki według własnego zamysłu.
Cykl „Słoną wodą malowane” jest współtworzony przez wodę oceanu. Prace niosą w sobie cząsteczki całej historii świata.
W warstwie formalnej podchodzę do malowania wody na kilka sposobów. Część moich prac to dość realistyczne studia fal oceanu. Można zakwalifikować je do tradycyjnego malarstwa marynistycznego. Te obrazy były mi potrzebne do wniknięcia w naturę motywu wody.
Inne prace sytuują się gdzieś pomiędzy malarstwem realistycznym a abstrakcją. Dla kogoś kto nie wie gdzie były malowane, obecność morskiego pejzażu może nie być taka oczywista. Kolor wody i nieba, a także natura unikalnego momentu nad oceanem zamknięta jest w kompozycji formalnej, prostej i syntetycznej.
Niekiedy daję wodzie możliwość ingerencji w formę pracy. Włączam przypadek. Ma prawo odcisnąć się na płótnie pod warunkiem, że oddaje mój zamysł.
Kontempluję wodę, odbite w niej światło, refleksy zdefragmentowanego słońca, wariacje na temat nieba, fale kłócące się z wiatrem, aż do piany, nieskończony horyzont oceanu.
Często rodzi się z tej symfonii abstrakcja w milionie odcieni błękitu.
Tu odnajduję dobro, prawdę i piękno. Bo o to chodzi w sztuce.
Water is a significant theme in my work. It is perhaps the main motif in most of my paintings.
During plein air painting sessions by the ocean, I have the chance to engage in its contemplation. These sessions are a true exploration of the deep connection between humans and nature in its most primal form. After all, without water, there is no life. Biological life began in the ocean. Our bodies, our DNA, and our brains are mostly made up of water. We are connected to water by a prehistoric umbilical cord.
I feel the need to paint water, and I also feel the need to invite water to co-create my art. In many of my paintings, especially the smaller ones painted outdoors, the ocean’s water sometimes sprinkles the canvas with its breeze, leaving streaks according to its own design.
The series “Painted with Salt Water” is co-created by the ocean’s water. These works carry within them particles of the entire history of the world.
In terms of technique, I approach painting water in several ways. Some of my works are quite realistic studies of ocean waves. These can be classified as traditional marine art. These paintings were essential for me to delve into the nature of the water motif.
Other works lie somewhere between realism and abstraction. For those unaware of where they were painted, the presence of a seascape might not be so obvious. The color of the water and sky, as well as the nature of a unique moment by the ocean, are captured in a formal, simple, and synthetic composition.
Sometimes, I allow water to influence the form of the work. I embrace chance. Water has the right to leave its mark on the canvas, as long as it conveys my intention.
I contemplate the water, the light reflected in it, the fragments of the sun, the variations on the sky, the waves clashing with the wind, all the way to foam, the endless horizon of the ocean.
From this symphony, an abstraction often emerges in a million shades of blue.
Here, I find goodness, truth, and beauty. Because that is what art is all about.
